Camp Hornafjordur

My name is Steinunn Helga Sigurðardóttir. I am an artist and I am one of the artists that have been invited to exhibit at Camp Hornafjörður next August at Hornafjörður

The reason for me writing to you are because I am looking for people from Hornafjörður to participate in my work that I will be constructing at Camp Hornafjörður

I lived in Hornafjörður twenty years ago and for some reason I have not been back there since I moved from there, until now in May. I arrived and had an exhibition at the Pakkhúsinu with my Danish friend Hanne Godtfeldt. It was wonderful being back and living all the natures’ beauty over there. I had the urge to attend to my work at Camp Hornafjörður by connecting the past and the present, but how to approach the subject caused many disturbances. I came to the conclusion that the only way to execute my work is to have you participating along with me.

To make a long story short, I live in Lejre, which is a small town 45 kilometres from Copenhagen , and I have been living in this town for six years. Before I lived in Copenhagen for three years.

Last year and five other artists managed an exhibition that was named CampLejre that is identical to CampHornafjörður . Through the exhibition I made good contact with many of the inhabitants of Lejre. My aim is to connect the people ofHornafjörður with the people of Lejre. Thus if you are interested in connection with the inhabitants of Lejre, please contact me and I will connect you to a family from here.

To begin with I need your name and age. After about one week to ten days I will contact you and keep you informed of how the task is processing and how I will present it at the exhibition.

I hope that you will respond well to this letter of mine and as a result, you will see the possibility for you to participate.

If you have any questions, please write to me and I will respond as to the best of my ability. You can go to the web page at Camp and see how the exhibition is constructed. The home page is
Best of regards to you.
